WebOct 30, 2016 · Another thing to check is the chamber. Remove the barrel and see if your ammo will drop easily onto the chamber. If it is tight then the chamber probably needs to be throated. Failures to extract are typically extractor related. Like already stated, check the extractor for clocking and tension. WebJan 13, 2014 · This is usually caused by the extractor "clocking". The extractor is turning and releasing the spent shell before it gets to the ejector. The result is the spent shell is not ejected and it gets crushed between the slide and the barrel hood. Both of my Springfield's (Loaded and Trophy Match) had this exact issue.
